President Obama Monitoring Failed Terror Attempt
As President Barack Obama holidays in Hawaii, officials say hes keeping up to date on whats described as a terror attempt on board a Northwest Airlines airplane that was about to land in Detroit.
A man from Nigeria was detained on the flight from Amsterdam Friday after he endeavored to detonate an explosive device through landing.
The White House says President Barack Obama was notified about the incident and considered it with security officials.
The White House is coordinating briefings for the President Barack Obama through the Homeland Security Department, the Transportation Security Administration and the FBI.
The doubt, identified by Rep Peter King, as Abdul Mudallad, a 23-year-old man from Nigeria well known in counter-terror circles, told investigators he was acting on behalf of Al Qaeda.
